B2B CRM vs B2C CRM: What is the Difference?

What is B2B CRM?

B2B CRM is short for Business-to-Business Customer Relationship Management, referring to systems, technology, strategies, and procedures that enable businesses to manage their relationship with existing and new clients. Usually, B2B CRM is used as a term for the system. But, at every point of the sales cycle, B2B CRM should be considered as a strategic approach to evaluating and addressing the demands of customers.

What is B2C CRM?

What is B2C CRM?

A B2C CRM software is particularly designed to meet the commercial needs of customers. In general, the sales cycles are shorter, and there are many sources that allow an individual to enter via different sources. The B2C CRM should be sufficiently fluid to determine where sales occur and which sources provide the maximum revenue. Because B2C CRM software has vast volumes of data to process, the internal search tool must be powerful and data classification should be properly organized.

Expected Sales Cycle vs Random Sales Cycle

Expected Sales Cycle vs Random Sales Cycle

B2B sales are generally more complicated, entail more parties in purchasing, and need a longer evaluation and implementation process. Due to this constant process, many B2B companies have recognized the normal duration of the sales cycle and anticipate the process to take a certain time. A B2C sales cycle, on the contrary, cannot be predicted. For example, a customer comes across a product today and buys it immediately, another customer buys the same product after months of discovering it. The diversity of the buying cycle in B2C makes it difficult for a B2B CRM system to cater to the demands of a B2C company.

Company-driven vs Individual-driven

Company-driven vs Individual-driven

In B2B, you particularly sell to another corporation.  B2B CRM systems with a list of relevant contacts are therefore configured to administer businesses. This design is not in accordance with the B2C’s enormous proportion of people. There are no companies in B2C since it is an individual buying a product straight from your company. B2C CRM software is created to assess a single individual rather than the organization.

Major Difference in Transactions

Major Difference in Transactions

There is a significant difference in B2B and B2C in the terms of daily contacts, interactions, and transactions. B2B companies typically may have thousands of clients at most. B2C, however, could sell a product to millions of customers in a day. The huge number of transactions in B2C cannot be handled by a standard B2B CRM system. In order to successfully analyze improvement over time, a B2C CRM system must be able to absorb a large amount of information.

Sales-centric vs Marketing-centric

Sales-centric vs Marketing-centric

CRM software is a sales team tool in the B2B world. B2B CRM is used every day by the sales team to monitor progress in the different stages of a sales cycle.  The B2C CRM, however, is designed for marketers. B2C marketers, therefore, require meaningful information in order to categorize their customers and deliver personalized and targeted marketing on every platform.  B2C CRM helps marketers maintain control, based on precise observations of buyer behavior and pattern.

Huge Difference in Pricing

Huge Difference in Pricing

Not only do B2B products have a longer sales cycle, but they are also far more costly.   B2C transactions, on the other hand, can be extremely affordable.  The two sectors look quite differently on customer retention because client acquisition costs are substantially greater in B2B, while recurring transactions are significantly more important in B2C. Therefore, it would be impossible to assess the two types of businesses using the same CRM system with such a diverse overall cost.

Conclusion

The difference between B2B CRM and B2C CRM is gigantic and rightfully so. There is no point in forcing a CRM system of the B2B industry onto the B2C industry and vice versa.

B2C CRM system should be far stronger than your conventional B2B CRM system. In B2B, sales representatives can delete or modify information manually when circumstances change. But, because of rapid and huge transactions in B2C, the manual maintenance of a database is impractical
